Creating Moving Text Effects in Fireworks 4
Creating a moving text effect which you can use on your website, or on banners is actually a very easy process. Fine tuning and making it look a little flashier takes more time. You can however in a matter of 2 minutes put moving text on any project you are working on. If you have any questions or dont quite understand one of the steps feel free to e-mail me.

Step 1
This is a very simple process and you can easily do it in a few simple steps. For this tutorial I created a new document in fireworks with a white background 200 x 200 pixels. The next step is to add the text to your document. For this sample I put a simple blurb about my company and a text logo at the top. You can use as little or as much text as you like, it really does not matter. As well the size of your document does not make any difference. So if you want to use a 100x100 or a 68x492 document you can still easily do this technique.

Step 2
This next step is quite a few quick steps combined together. If you follow everything carefully you will have nice moving text in mere seconds. First you need to select your text, and then press the F8 key. The F8 key is very important because it converts your text into a symbol which we will be animating. Next move the text down your document until you can no longer see it. It should be just barely off the bottom of your page so you cant see it in the document. Then with it still selected copy the text symbol using the edit, copy command on the toolbar. Next paste it into your document and move it to the middle of your document where all of it is visible. Deselect the second text that you just pasted in and select the text which is off the document and hidden. Then select the second copy that you pasted in. It is VERY important that you select the text that is off the page before you select the text that is on the page. Now go to Modfiy and then symbol and click on tween instances. Make sure you have distribute to frames selected! Now your text is a moving animation! Click on the last frame of the animation and set it to 150 and you are done. Just for the sake of making it look a bit nicer I have added another step below that will fade the text out.

Step 3
This next step is going to make our text fade out to nothing. Very easy to do and adds a little extra to the design, instead of having it just start over. Click on the last frame of your animation and then select the text, right click on it, select animate, and then click on animate selection. On the next popup screen make sure you set the move to 0, leave the starting opacity at 100 and change the end opacity to 0. Now what happens is instead of the text just sitting their, and then starting over it fades out. Have a look at my sample below and compare yours to it. This is a very simple moving text effect, play with it and come up with more advanced methods of doing this technique.

This is what my final product looked like. I did it in about 30 seconds and you can do the same in the same amount of time using this simple tutorial.
